Our 2nd annual 5k run and 1st annual 10k run are already in the planning stages for this year’s Mothers Day. Thanks to your generosity, last years’ event funded $15,000 in research grants for Down syndrome at Duke University. It was a huge success with 317 registrations, and 35 sponsors.
That being said, we’ve decided to expand the race this year to include a 10k as well, and the best part is, “Garner, a Great Place to be Running,” is now a race series. Runners can now choose individual races to participate in or run the series of races which include “Caroline’s Catch Me If You Can 5K and 10K" on May 10, and "White Deer Dash 5K" on September 26. (You can click on the links to register as a runner.) Caroline Ball Family Fund has now teamed up with the town to give us, and our sponsors even more visibility! This year’s race hopes to attract 450 runners from all over Wake and Johnston Counties. Contact us now with your sponsorship commitment to ensure recognition in all areas of marketing.
If you are unfamiliar with the CBFF, we are a non-profit tax-exempt organization, (Tax ID # 26-2041587) 501 3C with a primary focus of enriching the lives of all individuals with Down syndrome through education, awareness, and research. The proceeds from “Caroline’s Catch Me if You Can 5/10k,” will again fund research grants at Duke University Medical Center in the field of Down syndrome. Currently there are studies indicating a link between Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. Early onset of Alzheimer’s is common in adults with Down Syndrome and in some individuals the effects can be seen in those as young as 40 years of age. Currently, this link is poorly understood. Your donation today can help us all in years to come.
Our race will begin at Aversboro Square in Garner at 7 am with a shotgun start. Sponsorship recognition is available at the start/finish line, throughout the race route, and in our runner’s goody bags. Now is the time for your company to become involved! Our sponsorship levels begin at $250. Each level provides the opportunity for your company to be a part of this organization, as well as continuing to make Garner a Great Place to Be.
